Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! This year Sacred Heart School begins our 72nd year of serving families in the North Mississippi area.  We have just over 300 students in PK4-8th grades.  Our students and their families represent 27 different countries.  Students will participate in Faith Formation activities, a rigorous academic program, and a variety of extra-curricular activities this year.

This year begins my ninth year as principal of Sacred Heart School and my twenty-second year in education.  I am an alumna of Sacred Heart School and Bishop Byrne High School. After graduating from high school, I attended Northwest Mississippi Community College and graduated from Arkansas State University.  I taught high school for several years before receiving my Master's degree in educational leadership.

Our school-wide theme of the year will follow the theme of the international community of schools: Sint Unum.  This means we are one.  The international community of schools includes over 50 schools from around the world sponsored by the Priests of the Sacred Heart.  The International Education Committee asked all schools to use the theme Sint Unum.  We are offering a variety of programs to help our school community understand this theme.

The staff of Sacred Heart School was pleased to announce the results of the summative ACT Aspire testing from May 2019.  Our grade level averages were higher than the diocese and national averages in math, science, English, and reading.  I attribute these wonderful results to our hard-working students, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents.

I look forward to working with all of our families this year.  Many blessings for a safe and happy school year.
