Mrs. Bridget Brotherton Martin

Thank you for your interest in Sacred Heart School.  Our school has been serving families in the tri-state area for 70 years.  I have the privillage of being an alumnae, a parent, and the principal of the Sacred Heart School. Once I completed my years at Sacred Heart I continued my Catholic education at Bishop Byrne High School in Memphis and graduated from college at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The 2017-2018 school begins my 7th year as the the school principal.  I have truly enjoyed serving our families as the school principal.

My education career began in 1997 at Olive Branch High School.  I taught various history courses and coached the cheerleading team for 8 years.  In 2004, I entered the Educational Leadership Program at Delta State University. After receiving my Masters degree in Educational Leadership, I served as the Assistant Principal at Horn Lake High school for 5 years.

Over my 7 years serving as principal I have see many changes in our school. One of the aspects of our school I enjoy the most is our rich cultural diversity.  This year we have 330 students that come from 24 different counrties. Our students have won state championships in chess and science fair competitions. Each year we have students accepted into the top high schools in Memphis.  We have transitioned from using white boards to interactive Promethean Boards in every classroom and teachers suppliments the boards with a mobile Surface Pro's cart. Our school has added sports for all students in PK4-8th grades and re-established our band program.  Students may participate in extra activities like Robot Club, Math Team Competitions, Knowledge Bowl Competitions, Science Fair Competitions, Spelling Bees, and geography Bees. The Parent Teacher organization just raised $30,000 to remodel our library. Our school was recently recognized by Today's Catholic Teacher as one of the top three Catholic schools in the United States for innovative Catholic Identity.

I would love to hear from our alumni.  Our students enjoy hearing success stories from our alumni!  I would ask that everyone remember our Sacred Heart School family in your prayers.

Please stop in anytime you ahve questions or suggestions!

Many blessings,

Bridget B. martin
